Privacy notice
This notice explains how Mediahubink Limited uses personal information when you use LevyBot, our Building Safety Levy checking tool.
Who we are
Mediahubink Limited is the data controller. We are a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 17218602), with our registered office at 7 Tileyard North, Wakefield WF1 5FY. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number ZC241532. Contact us about privacy at hello@mediahubink.com.
Using the levy check
The questions and answers in the levy check are processed in your browser. We do not store your scheme details, and we do not ask for your name or contact details, unless you choose to request a Readiness Report.
If you look up a council by postcode, the postcode is sent to postcodes.io, a free postcode lookup service, to find the local authority. We do not keep it.
Requesting a Readiness Report
If you request a Readiness Report, we collect your name, email address, and optionally your company, phone number and notes, together with a summary of the scheme you entered and the indicative levy figure.
We use this information to:
- respond to your request and arrange the report
- share your details and scheme summary with the qualified professional who prepares the report, such as a chartered quantity surveyor
- keep a record of requests, and protect the service against spam and misuse
Our lawful bases are your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the request form, and our legitimate interests in running and protecting the service. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@mediahubink.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
Who we share information with
| Recipient | Why |
|---|---|
| The professional who prepares your Readiness Report | To carry out the review you asked for. They use your information for that purpose only. |
| Supabase | Stores Readiness Report requests in a database hosted in London. |
| Google (Workspace) | Sends us an email alert and keeps a working copy of each request in a Google Sheet. |
| Vercel | Hosts the LevyBot website and keeps short-term technical logs, such as IP addresses. |
| Google Fonts | Supplies the fonts on this page. Your browser's IP address is sent to Google when the fonts load. |
| postcodes.io | Looks up the council for a postcode, if you use that feature. |
Supabase stores your request in London. Vercel and Google may process information in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, or by the UK-US data bridge where the provider is certified under it. You can ask us for details of these safeguards. We do not sell your information.
How long we keep it
If you request a Readiness Report but do not go on to commission one, we delete your request 12 months after your last contact with us.
If you commission a report, we keep your details, the scheme information and the report for 6 years after the work is finished, so that we can answer questions about it, meet our tax and accounting obligations, and deal with any legal claim.
Cookies
LevyBot does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising trackers.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Email hello@mediahubink.com and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
